ChessMAX@Wyvern is a friendly and inclusive junior chess club based in Swindon, dedicated to inspiring young minds through the game of chess. Open to children aged 6 to 18, we provide a fun and structured environment where players of all levels can learn, grow, and enjoy the game.

We run two groups:
Group 1 is for children under 10 or those new to chess.
Group 2 is for ages 10 and above, as well as more advanced players.

The groups meet on alternate weeks during school term time. Each session includes group coaching led by our experienced players and dedicated volunteers, along with practice games and learning activities tailored to each group’s level.

To bring a sense of healthy competition and sportsmanship, the club also runs local league matches between players. We actively encourage our members to take part in regular ECF and FIDE rated tournaments to gain wider experience and confidence.
